Lighting Dedication for the First Responder Memorial Plaza

Please join us for the lighting ceremony of the First Responder Memorial Plaza.
The plaza is located in downtown Council Bluffs on the Corner of West Broadway / Pearl and Main St.

First Responders Memorial Plaza

This Plaza honors First Responders and Public Safety personnel. Lifelike bronze statues depict a Police Officer and his K-9, a Firefighter holding a child, an Iowa State Patrol Trooper, a Sheriff Deputy, all connected by a walkway representing the 911 Call Center. Omaha sculptor John Lajba created the statues.

The project was funded by Council Bluffs residents, Ron and Suzanne Mahoney as a way to give back to their community. The Mahoneys want the plaza to serve as a reminder of the respect that our First Responders deserve for their dedication to serving our community.

One of the final wishes from the Mahoneys was to have the Plaza Illuminated. Please join us for the lighting of the Plaza.
