Marking Nebraska: Our (Mostly) Hidden Historical Monuments

Author and photographer Jeff Barnes will showcase images and stories of Nebraska’s lesser-known historical monuments, presenting a “hidden history” of long-forgotten stories and rarely seen landscapes. Discover the impact of glaciers on community monuments, and hear intriguing tales such as how Nebraska’s first marker almost ended up at the bottom of the Missouri River and then vanished for fifty years after being placed at its permanent site.
