Local Author Fair
November 17, 2024 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

On Sunday, November 17 from 1 to 3 p.m., Council Bluffs Public Library will be hosting a Local Author Fair. You are invited to meet and greet the authors, purchase books, and ask questions about their books, research, or writing process. Authors will be stationed in the main area of the library so library visitors can easily walk around and visit with these literary guests of honor.
This local author fair has been an event at the Library for several years now and we are honored to host many familiar and new faces this time around. One such face will be Theodore Wheeler, whose most recent book The War Begins In Paris is the current Omaha Reads selection. This novel centers on two female war correspondents whose lives become intertwined in the midst of the chaotic World War. Wheeler’s previous historical fiction title, Kings of Broken Things, is based on the true events of the Omaha Race Riots of 1919.
Nebraska-based historian and author Jeff Barnes, whose titles include Forts of the Northern Plains, The Great Plains Guide to Custer, and Cut In Stone, Cast In Bronze, will be in attendance. Also joining us will be mystery writer Sadie K. Frazier, whose work is sure to keep you guessing and reading! Frazier’s published books include Brewed to Perfection and If Bones Could Talk, to name a few. This local author has helped with workshops and writer’s groups in the area in addition to crafting her own stories.
We will also host local writers such as Stephen St. Clare, whose titles include The Sight of Love, Mt. Hope, and The Sound of Love. T.E. Mantil, Edie Goodwin, Mandi Oyster, Sam Bostwick, E.G. Rutledge, Rob Lindquist, Susan Jungman, Riley J. Perrie, and more! Genres include mystery, psychological thriller, science fiction, fantasy, historical fiction, history, local lore, paranormal, young adult, and even youth titles. Please join us for this event to support local authors and to be informed of all their publications and projects!
