AIM Institute Offers Free Foundations of Web Development Online Course to Southwest Iowa Residents

AIM Institute will offer a free Foundations of Web Development online course from Sept. 10 through Dec. 22. Participants will learn HTML, CSS and other front-end programming concepts in an online course format on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5:30 to 9.

This course is generously funded by the Charles E. Lakin Foundation, which covers the typical $1,500 program cost. Students must be age 18 or older, or high school seniors, to participate.

The SWIFTT (Southwest Iowa Free Technical Training) program aims to introduce students to the world of Information Technology. In this program, students will learn the different facets of IT that include computer hardware, networking and programming. This course is designed to provide an overview of the fundamental concepts, principles and ideas related to IT and software development.

As this course is designed for beginners, there are no pre-requisites to take it other than basic computer literacy. This course also provides job readiness skills that are critical to secure an entry-level position.

Foundations of Web Development’s four modules include hardware, networking, network topologies and network security.
