Patchwork of the Prairie by Yvonne Hollenbeck

Do you like to quilt or own several old quilts? The Council Bluffs Public Library will be
hosting Yvonne Hollenbeck on Tuesday, July 30th at 6:30 p.m. This presentation will
be hosted by Yvonne Hollenbeck of South Dakota/NE from the Humanities of both
states.
Yvonne Hollenbeck is a poet, songwriter and journalist for the “Farmer-Rancher
Exchange.” She lives on a three-generations-old family ranch with her husband,
where they raise cattle and horses. Hollenbeck will showcase her collection of
family quilts, spanning 140 years, including her own award-winning creations. Poetry
about quilts and quilters will be presented throughout the trunk show. Additionally,
the presentation will feature PowerPoint photos of the quilt makers and their homes.
Quilts provide a beautiful way to remember and preserve our heritage.
