DESCRIPTION:The Wall That Heals\, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial along with a mobile Education Center\, is coming to Pottawattamie County  at Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs. May 21-25 and will be open 24 hours a day and free to the public. The Wall That Heals honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed forces in the Vietnam War\, and it bears the names of the 58\,281 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.  We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help us honor those who served. Whether you’re assisting visitors with locating names\, guiding them through our mobile Education Center\, or helping ensure a respectful environment\, your presence makes a difference.

The traveling exhibit honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces in the Vietnam War\, and it bears the names of the 58\,281 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam. \nThe Wall replica is 375 feet in length and stands 7.5 feet high at its tallest point. With the replica at this size\, visitors are able to experience The Wall rising above them as they walk towards the apex\, a key feature of the design of The Wall in D.C.

I hope that’s mud!” From the Desperate Farmwives blog\, Elisha Wells Stroupe has compiled her best stories about raising farm kids and some questionable parenting strategies which may only work when you are miles from town. Through the heartbreaking stories of Jewish composers whose lives were extinguished by the Nazi regime\, Dr. Beard exposes how the Nazis twisted music into a weapon of psychological cruelty\, even as prisoners reclaimed it as a lifeline. In the darkest of circumstances\, music became a fragile sanctuary: an act of courage\, identity\, and resistance against a world intent on erasing them. \nThis Humanities Iowa program is free and open to the public.
